Our beloved mother went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 3, 2025. Mattie was born in Forrest City Arkansas on July 19, 1934, to the late Therman and Emma (Jones) Wiley. She was born on the 7 th month and was the 7 th child out of 13 siblings. Mattie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was educated in the Arkansas ISD and completed 9 years of schooling. Mattie married her husband of 68yrs, Urel V. Nash on June 2, 1957, and to this union they had (4) beautiful daughters (Janice, Bettye, Edna & Valeria). She joined St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church on February 12, 1961, where she remained a member of until her passing. Mother Mattie loved playing BINGO and accounting for all balls by saying, "The Balls are all here." She also loved cooking her soul food (Chicken and Dressing). Her Lemon pies and Heavenly pies are to holler for!! Mother Nash loved preparing skits, nursery rhymes, lullabies, and dancing. Preceding her in death by: (Father) Therman Wiley, (Mother) Emma Wiley, (Sisters) Ethel, Dorothy, Lovie, Aretha, Artavia, Elizabeth, & Christine. (Brothers) Odessa, Raymond, Alfred, & Wilbert. One (Daughter) Bettye Jo Nash Thompson. She is Survived By: (Sisters) Ruby & Erie, of Forrest City, Ark, (Husband) Urel V. Nash, (3 Daughters) Janice Nash, Edna Nash McDonald, & Valeria Nash all of Corpus Christi, TX,
(Granddaughters) Eunesha Nash McDonald of Corpus Christi, TX, Elesha Nash McDonald of Henderson, NV, (Great Grandchildren) E'Laysha & Elijaah Nash McDonald of Corpus Christi, TX, (God Daughter) Crystal Antoinette Auzenne, (Special Brother) Henry (Martha) Lowell Bell, (Son in law) Darryl McDonald of Corpus Christi, TX, who held a special place in her heart . A host of nieces, and nephews, and many children that she enjoyed babysitting and adopted as her own over many years with great love for each of them. Special thanks to her provider that she loved dearly Charlotte Coleman. Special thanks to her massage therapist Eunice Sharkey. The family would like to extend our special thanks to Legacy Home Health & everyone who helped care for our beloved mother.
