Edith Evelyn Sloan (slaughter) age 74 went to be with our Lord on August 15, 2023 after a lengthy illness. Evelyn was born in San Saba Texas on Christmas Eve 1948 to John T. Slaughter and Lottie Slaughter. She was the baby of the family of six children. The family moved to Austin in 1956 and that is where, at the age of 13, Evelyn became a waitress at Maudie's café, which began her lifelong career. Besides being the best waitress ever, She became mother to three daughters and always did the best she could for them. Back in the day, Evelyn always worked hard, but she also loved a good time! she loved to dance and drink and smoke and gamble. And she always paid her debts. More recently Evelyn was a homebody. She loved listening to old country music. She loved her two little dogs, Angel and Duchess, and she loved to watch westerns on TV. She was hooked on Law & Order. Besides her many friends and folks that knew her and loved her, Evelyn is survived by her brother Rix (Linda) Slaughter; her Daughters Michelle (Dexter)Shelley, Tammy Sloan, Cammy Barbacovi, Grand children, Krystal (Tony) Martinez, Brenda Sloan, Danielle Shelley, Kandice Shelley, Gary Litson, Bryan Mundkowsky, great grandchildren, Destiny Martinez, Desirae Martinez, Kayleeann Vasquez, Brooklyn Lopez; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date
