Obituary

An angel got her wings and went home on Sunday, April 3, 2022, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on January 27, 1934, in Abilene, Texas to Hezekia Hughes and Lucille Turner. She attended school at Carter G. Woodson High.

Earnestine Hughes was joined in marriage to the love of her life, Robert L. Dunman on August 28, 1976. They were married 45 years. She also had two children, a daughter; Florence M. Batts married to Darnell Batts, and a son; Willie E. Bryant, married to Margaret Bryant.

Earnestine worked untiring for the Lord, she served in Minister and Deacon Wife Ministry. She was kind, loving, and always dedicated.

She united with Calvary First Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. H. Clay Dilworth, Jr. and she continued her faithful service under the leadership of our present pastor Bishop C. E. Richardson, Sr., who she affectionately called her baby brother.

She leaves to cherish, vibrant love and memories. Two sons Willie E Bryant (Margaret), Robert L. Dunman (Deatra), two daughters; Florence (Darnell) Bates, Rosalynd Dunman), and Goddaughter Mia Banks. Her grandchildren are: LaShonDae D. Hughes, Monet Paradis, YuMiko H. Anderson, Shonee M. Paduano, Tiffany Simpson, Derrick Simpson, William Buis, Darnelle Batts, Kioshia Batts, Robert L. Dunman III, Laxis Dunman, Tristen Bryant, Tunishia Bryant, Trentan Bryant, Jamaan Hogan-Bryant, Courie Bryant, Courtnay Banks, Casaundra Wyers, Host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin, family, and friends.
